Lab testing is available for Virginia nutritionists -- for in-state labs and for reciprocal out-of-state labs.
Tests for Medicare and Medicaid patients require a physician’s authorization. All labs used are CLIA
certified (Clinical Laboratory Improvement Act, 1988, administered by Medicare).
Standard tests, such as chemistry, CBC, lipids, etc, are done at Lab Corp or Quest Diagnostics. These labs
bill your insurance directly.
NUTRITIONAL LAB KITS
A variety of nutritional tests are performed at specialty labs, and all are CLIA certified. Special lab kits are
provided in approved shipping containers. Tests include: vitamins, minerals, food allergies, heavy metals,
stool tests, neurotransmitters, comprehensive cardio-metabolic panels, and other tests. Most tests are
covered by PPO and POS insurance plans, Medicare and Tricare.

BILLING FOR TESTS
