WHY TEST?

Laboratory tests are used to help determine your nutritional status, food allergies and digestion.

LABORATORIES

Lab rights are available for Virginia Health Professionals. Several Virginia laboratories are available. Testing

with labs outside the state are in conjunction with Greater Falls Church Chiropractic Center where required.

Tests for Medicare and Medicaid patients will require your physician’s authorization, plus usually an Advance

Beneficiary Notice. All labs used are CLIA certified (Clinical Laboratory Improvement Act, 1988, administered

by Medicare).

Most nutrition tests involve specialty lab kits, available at the Clinic. These are designated below. Some of

these can be done at home (hair, saliva, urine, stool). The kits are then shipped in pre-paid packets to the

labs for processing. Other kits require blood samples (see below).

Blood for local labs, such as Lab Corp or Quest, can be drawn at their drawing stations. Blood for nutrition lab

kits can be drawn at hospitals, your doctor's office, licensed phlebotomy centers, or by a licensed home-visit

phlebotomist. Most charge a small fee for phlebotomy services (about $30 - $35). Note: Lab Corp and Quest

will not draw blood for kits from other labs. No one in our Clinic can draw blood for test kits.

In most cases laboratories bill patients or their insurance companies directly, less a co-pay. The Clinic

charges a small fee for the lab test kits.
