Her Credentials
Dr. Power has been a clinical and research
nutritionist since 1982. She holds a
Masters Degree
in Nutritional Sciences (Nutritional
Biochemistry) from the
University
of Maryland
where she pioneered new research in food allergies. She has a
doctoral degree and training in Holistic Nutrition from International
University in California. She has also studied Immunology, Allergy,
Epidemiology, and Seasonal Affective Disorder at the National Institutes
of Health graduate school,
FAES.
In addition, she is a DAN certified practitioner for treating children
with autism and developmental delays.
Dr. Power is a member of the Maryland Nutritionists Association and the
American College of Nutrition
and is licensed in Maryland. There is no Virginia license for
nutritionists; but she has been active in legislative efforts in
Virginia, and helped found the Virginia Nutritionists Association. She
has lectured to both the public and professionals, including major
medical and nutritional conferences on her research, and at
Georgetown University School of Medicine.
She has also recorded both television and radio interviews.
